Knight

 I need you to guard this for me.

It’s broken beyond repair, and it isn’t worth much, so

It’s not like you’ll be fighting off bandits, or the Queen’s Guard.

 

Taking care of it isn’t rocket science, 

Just bring a katana of your choice to fight off the demons, 

A tent perhaps, for when it needs company under the night sky.

 

Truly, it’s more likely to self-destruct, so

Just promise me you’ll diffuse it if it threatens to go off and 

If you succeed, maybe you can hold onto it permanently.

 

After all, I’ve only got one of these beating in my chest.
